Health Risks of Lead
Children are at a greater risk than adults because their bodies are developing. They are more likely during normal activity to swallow or inhale dust from their hands, toys, food, or other objects. Lead can cause nervous system and kidney damage, decreased intelligence, attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities, speech problems, language and behavior problems.
Pregnant women may experience miscarriages, premature births, fetus brain damage, and low birth weights.
Adults may experience high blood pressure, fertility problems, digestive problems, nerve disorders, memory and concentration problems, sexual disorders, muscle and joint pains.
